HeadLine is a comprehensive solution to the ergonomic needs of the modern office worker: not only providing optimal lumbar support, but also paying attention to vulnerable areas that have previously been neglected – the shoulders, neck and head. In an upright sitting position, the head is naturally balanced on the spinal column. However, when the sitter alters this position, the result is muscle strain in the neck and shoulders. A conventional office chair has a contoured backrest with a curve in the lumbar zone to support the sitter's torso. In the reclined position, however, the head is no longer aligned with the spine, forcing the shoulder and neck muscles to bear its weight. HeadLine solves this problem: The flexible, elongated backrest is suspended from the frame at the critical points of the lower back and neck by means of articulated joints. In the upright position, most supportive function is focused on the lumbar zone. When the sitter leans back, the shoulders sink into the back panel and the upper backrest extension tilts forward to support the head. This prevents neck and shoulder strain, while maintainin a horizontal line of sight with the computer monitor. HeadLine utilises three-dimensional spacer fabric in its upholstery, ensuring all-round air circulation even for prolonged periods of sitting. It is combined with an underlying layer of patented hydrophilic fleece, which quickly wicks away moisture. Due to the complementary qualities of these materials, HeadLine maintains comfortable thermal conditions for up to eight times longer than chairs with conventional upholstery. High quality materials and workmanship guarantee long durability, thereby lengthening the lifespan (and replacement cycle) of Headline. The chair also respects ecological resources: 53% of its components are made of recycled aluminium. The other materials—polyamide, polyurethane foam and upholstery textiles—are 98% recyclable.
